The Occitanie Region, a key player in the region's agricultural sector.

Agriculture is highly diversified in the regional territory: viticulture, livestock, fruits and vegetables, crops certified as organic agriculture, etc. Agriculture and agri-food constitute the leading economic sector of the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée region with over 165,000 jobs.

The Region implements a proactive policy to aid the creation and development of agricultural enterprises. The SRDEII (Regional Scheme for Economic Development, Innovation, and Internationalization) enhances its strategy with a special Agriculture component. By placing agriculture at the heart of its economic development concerns, the Region fully acknowledges this activity, which occupies half of the regional surface.

The challenges are numerous for this sector: competitiveness, prevention of health risks, innovation, natural constraints. The regional territory is rich in its soil diversity, enabling the development of various agricultural activities.

The Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region prioritizes the use of its resources to support livestock sectors impacted by economic and/or health crises. There is also a focus on the evolution of the organic sector, which is particularly dynamic in the regional territory. 2.7 million euros will be allocated to organic agriculture, in addition to 38 million euros under the FEADER.

The Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region is developing a proactive policy to enhance agriculture, the region's primary economic sector.
